Not only does ICE mistreat and deny medical care to its detainees in GEO run facilities, but it literally dumps people who cannot care for themselves on frozen city streets to let them die. In orange booties from an ICE detention center, Nuri Amin Alam, a blind refugee from Myanmar (Burma) was transported and left on a Buffalo street in freezing weather miles from his home without adequate clothing for the weather.
His death is the result of the deliberate lack of care by ICE agents who picked him up on February 19 after his family posted bail, drove him to Buffalo and left him on the city street to die. ICE did not answer the family questions regarding his whereabouts. The word for this action is murder.
This goes along with reports that DHS agents allowed Jeffery Epstein to import his victims to and from his island “as a favor.” As a favor? The idea that our esteemed protectors of the border from women and the children seeking refuge to allowed this pedophile (that’s a polite word) to import young girls from all over to be abused is beyond outrageous. It’s criminal, just like the death of Alam, and they should be held accountable and punished..
Prayer for the Day
Crying aloud to you, O God, asking what is wrong with us,
Leaving the helpless to die without any care?
Angered by reports, O Lord, of government corruption,
Enabling sexual abuse, we ask where is justice?
Hold us to the promises of accountability and justice,
So such sins do not blot us with blood.
In the name of the One who calls us to do justice
