Weekend in Old Monmouth was a wonderful success.  We had more than 50 visitors who came to learn about the history of the church, the importance f religious freedom -- New Jersey was one of only three colonies that had total freedom of religion -- no religious test -- thanks to the Baptist heritage of soul liberty -- freedom of conscience .  People viewed out historic cemetery where Revolutionary War heroes are buried.

On Sunday June 14 we enjoyed a wonderful musical celebration of American history through Boadway music.

We celebrated Middletown's role in our American Revolution with a parade on Sunday June 28

The church and graveyard was open for those who haven't had a chance to learn of the church's role in the American Revolution.  Patriot members of the Middletown Baptist Church are buried in the graveyard.  We had quite a few visitors.  This summer we are expanding the exhibits in our museum room.  Included is a short history of Old First, originally establisehd as the Middletown Baptist Church in 1688 and materials for children as well.
