A one border patrol agent said, everything seems eerily quiet on the southern border. After what seemed like an overwhelming influx of migrants and asylum seekers crossing the border, the numbers have dropped drastically.  It’s certainly not because the political and economic situations have improved in some Central and South American countries.

The Biden Administration has changed the way asylum seekers are “processed.” Now, there’s a word – processed – sounds like you’re going through a food processing plant. People on the Mexican side look in their cell phones for their screening appointments and on the U.S. side those cleared will be given entry, appointments, and court dates.

 

Those who try to enter skirting this process are put into a massive tent shelter and will be deported. The preliminary result is nearly a 70% drop in persons trying to cross without going through the proper procedures. The Yahoos among us, of course, decry any attempt to bring anyone in – although, I’ll bet their lawns are mowed and houses cleaned by unauthorized immigrants who are paid little for their hard work.
