Much like the last remnants of winter – we hope, Covid just doesn’t let go.  Now the FDC is looking to authorize a second booster for older adults, that is people over 50.  Love that phrase, older adults.  Older seems to be getting younger every day

There are those gated communities, centers, whatever you call them, for “active” older adults.  What are the rest of us?  A bowl of mush?  There are gyms with programs that cater to so-called older adults, with special ‘fitness” classes to keep us in shape.

So, we think, when will a vaccine be permanent?  There are few that are.  We get a flu shot every year, which is tailored for the new variants that arise.  Perhaps we’ll end up getting Covid shots every year as well.

Prayer for the Day

Tired of the cold mornings, O God, we continue to await a real spring,

   And we wonder when our mornings will be nicer and warmer;

If the weather fluctuations are meant to be a test, we passed,

   But the test of Lent is not yet over, we know, we know.

Grant us patience and fortitude, as we work through this season,

   One meant to bring us closer to you and others.

In the name of the One who is our model,

   Even Christ Jesus our Lord, Amen.

Thoughts for the Day

The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.

      - Arnold H. Glasgow, American businessman (1905-1988)

It is not all bad, this getting old, ripening. After the fruit has got it’s growth, it should juice up and mellow. God forbid that I should live long enough to ferment and rot and fall to the ground in a squash.

       - Emily Carr, Canadian artist, painter (1871-1945)

Even to your old age I am God, even when you turn gray I will carry you;

   I have made and I will bear; and I will save.

Isaiah 46: 4
